As A Church School, All Souls Admission
Criteria are defined by our
Governing body.
All Souls Admission Criteria
are as follows:
There are 7 classes in the school plus the
Nursery. We admit up to 30 children in each year
group and 25 in the Nursery. When there are
fewer vacancies than applicants our admissions
policy will be applied in order of the following
priority:
1.
We admit children in care
(looked after by the Local Authority) who are
regular members of the Church of England.
(Regular
worshipper is defined as a parent and child(ren)
who worship and are involved with the church at
least twice a month)
2.
We admit children of parents/carers who are committed
members of and regular worshippers at a local
Christian church for whom we are the nearest
primary school
We
will require a letter from the priest or
minister to confirm this.
3.
We admit children who are in public care looked
after by the Local Authority.
4.
We admit children of parents/carers who are committed
members of and regular worshippers at All Souls
Church or Clubhouse.
5.
Children who will have a sibling, at
the school at the time of admission.
(Sibling
refers to brother or sister, half brother or
sister, adopted brother or sister, step brother
or sister, or the child of the parent/carers
partner where the child for whom the school
place is sought is living in the same family
unit at the address as that sibling.)
We admit children who already have a place in
our Nursery.
6.
We accept children whose parents satisfy the
Governors that there is an exceptional need for
education at this school for medical or social
reasons. This would need to be supported by
professional evidence.
7.
Distance from the school will be used if
necessary to decide between children in the
previous categories.
8.
If there are
remaining places these will be decided on
distance from the school. Distance will be
measured in the shortest walking route from
the front door of the child's home address to
the main entrance of the school. Those living
closer to the school receive higher priority.
