Our New
Junior
Playground
We are now
enjoying our
new
playground
on the roof
of the
school. It
has been
divided into
different
areas for
active and
quiet play.
Planting
design
specialists
Growth
Industry
have
installed a
roof garden
within the
playground.
The garden
aims to
provide year
round
interest
through the
use of
contrasting
foliage,
flower
colour, leaf
shape, scent
and texture.
Plants have
been
selected
which have
periods of
interest
that
coincide
with the
start of
each new
term,
celebrating
the return
to school.
Biodiversity
has been
greatly
enhanced by
using plants
that provide
valuable
food, nectar
and habitats
for urban
wildlife. An
area for
pupil
vegetable
and herb
growing has
also been
provided.
We have
installed a
large water
butt to
collect
rainwater to
water the
plants when
the rain is
not
sufficient
