QPR plays Cardiff City |
| |
| As part of the school's ongoing involvement with Queens Park Rangers (QPR's) soccer coaching programme, a group of Year 5 and 6 children went to Loftus Road to watch QPR play Cardiff City on April 21st. |

For many of the pupils, this was the first time they had seen live football and, judging by the expressions on their faces as they entered the stands, it was quite an occasion. |

|
| As our seats were quite close to the Welsh fans, who were urging on Cardiff to make the Championship play-offs, and the Rangers fans were fully behind their team's attempt to stave off relegation, the atmosphere was electric. The excitement soon spread through the children and they started to sing along with the home supporters. |

When Dexter Blackstock scored the winner right in front of them, they were on their feet and celebrating as enthusiastically as any season ticket holder. |
|
Hopefully, the trip opened the children's eyes to the fact that there is real pleasure to be had from football outside the limits of television highlights of the Premiership
