An interesting start back
Well, that was a very interesting start back to the Summer Term with staff missing, children also away and lots of media coverage. The good news is that most staff are now back and all has been very calm and positive while they have been away. We are expecting quite a few children back next week. Our poor attendance figures! All families who can prove that their original flights would have had the children back for the start of term will have their absence authorised. Their attendance figures although officially will need to be officially recorded however unofficially children can still aim for a platinum award. |

Year Six Sats
I would like to confirm that Year Six will be taking Sats tests for English in May and will be doing single level tests for Maths in June. A meeting will be arranged for Year Six parents shortly to discuss the process further. |
|
Newsletters and Class targets
Due to staff absence at the start of term class newsletters will go out on Monday 26th April (with the exception of Y2 as Miss Matthias is still away) and class targets which will go out on Friday 30th April. |
|
Writing Project
As part of our work to raise attainment in writing across the school, each class will be taking part in a writing project. Each project will be tailored specifically for each class and will include a class trip. More details of this will be included in your child’s class newsletter next week. |
|
Election Day
Just a reminder that the school will be closed on Thursday 6th May as the school is being used as a polling station. All children will be set work for the day to be completed at home. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. |

Christmas
It all ready feels like Christmas has begun at All Souls. I am sure everyone who attended the Christmas plays will agree that the children were fantastic. I am so incredibly proud of all our children and staff who work very hard to ensure the plays are such a tremendous success.
Also a massive thank you to parents for the Christmas party food contributions. It was wonderful to see (and sample!) so many home made dishes from around the world. The parties were hugely enjoyed by all and even included a visit from Father Christmas for the younger children. |

Red on the Rainbow
This term saw eleven children reach RED on the rainbow. This is a fantastic achievement as only the highest standard of behaviour is rewarded in this way.
Well done to the following children:
Hua Zhang in Year One
Toufiq, Joe, Maryam, Rowan and Aaqib in Year Two
Tamjeed in Year Three
Sidd in Year Four
Arthur and Fred in Year Five
Zakaa in Year Six

|
Class Trips
This term the classes have been on a record number of school trips. These include The Science Museum, The Transport Museum, The Cenotaph, The Imperial War Museum, Winter Wonderland and numerous visits to the CLC centre for specialist ICT teaching and learning.
After each trip class teachers have returned with stories of how well behaved the children have been and how much the trip had been enjoyed by all.

Outstanding Contribution to the School Community
Each term we reward a number of children for their positive contribution to school life as a whole. This may be an improvement in their class work, their polite and thoughtful nature towards others, their understanding of how their progress can improve progress for the whole school or to reward them for a particular role or responsibility they have taken. This term we would like to acknowledge and thank the following children:
Ayda in Nursery
Cameron in Reception
David Gunner in Year One
Shuhei in Year Two
Grace in Year Three
Alaa in Year Four
Kawthar in Year Five
Zakaa in Year Six

A Special Mention
I would like to give a special mention to three pupils who have taken part and excelled at different events this term. Saskia in Year Six was chosen to do a voice over live on Radio Two. The presenter was very impressed with her voice acting skills!Maahi in Year Six and Jessy in Year Three took part in the London Schools’ Faith in Art competition and won first and runners up place. Well done to both of them.
